Questions answered

Frequently Asked Questions

Clear answers about supported independent living on the Fraser Coast. If your question is not here, our friendly team is only a phone call away.

  • Supported Independent Living (SIL) is NDIS-funded support that helps people with disability live in a shared or individual home, with the right level of day-to-day assistance. Multibility Care provides SIL across the Fraser Coast in warm, well-staffed homes, always tailored to each resident's goals, funding and pace.

  • Yes. SIL is funded through the Assistance with Daily Life category of your NDIS Core budget, based on the level of support you need. If SIL is not yet in your plan, we can help gather the right evidence and reports to request it at your next plan review, alongside your support coordinator.

  • We provide SIL and in-home support across Hervey Bay, Maryborough, Urangan, Pialba, Scarness, Torquay, Toogoom, Burrum Heads, River Heads, Craignish, Kawungan, Wondunna, Tiaro, Howard and Childers. If your suburb is not listed, simply call us and we will confirm whether we can reach you.

  • Yes. Health professionals, support coordinators, family members and participants themselves can all submit a referral through our simple online referral form. Once received, our team makes contact within one business day to begin the conversation, confirm funding and goals, and arrange the first meeting.

  • After your first conversation, we usually arrange a home visit within a few days. Once we understand your goals, confirm funding and match the right home, the move-in process can often begin within two to four weeks, depending on availability and any trial stays you may want.

  • Both. Many of our SIL homes are shared with two to four housemates, which often suits participants looking for social connection and shared costs. We also support individual living arrangements for participants whose needs or preferences suit a one-on-one environment. The right option depends on your goals, funding and preferences.

  • Absolutely. We warmly encourage prospective residents and their families to visit, meet potential housemates and support workers, and even arrange a trial stay before making any decisions. Choosing a home is a big step, and we want it to feel right from the very first visit.
